How to stop the self sabotage in its tracks
Our brains thrive on repetition. It’s why those limiting beliefs resurface time and time again. Want to fight it?
You can stop the negative self talk dead in its tracks by engaging two strategies:
- Distraction
- Redirection
The moment you hear that negative thought in your mind, STOP. We all know to start to think positively, but let’s add something to the mix that our brains can understand. Try doing something physically different in that moment. If you are sitting, stand up and walk. If you are driving while listening to the news, turn on your favorite up tempo music and sing to it. You can even do something a subtle as tapping your toe under your desk. An intentional physical movement will focus your mind on something else.
Now, redirect to that positive thinking… remember, an affirmation with proof goes a long way.
