Returning to Where It All Began: Speaking at Opera America 2025 in Memphis
This May, I’m headed back to where it all started.
The OPERA America Opera Conference has long been one of the most important annual gatherings for our industry, and I’m honored to be speaking and attending my sixth conference—this time in Memphis, Tennessee.
On May 22, I’ll be joining some of the most innovative minds in the opera world for a session titled Solving Communications Challenges. Together, we’ll explore what it means to lead in times of disruption and how effective, culturally-aware communication is essential to the future of our art form.
Opera, like so many cultural institutions, is evolving. Audience expectations are shifting, representation matters more than ever, and the traditional playbook doesn’t always apply. What remains constant is the power of the human voice—on stage and in leadership.
I’m looking forward to thought-provoking conversations, collaborative dreaming, and the chance to connect with colleagues from across the globe who believe in opera’s bright, bold future.
If you’re attending #OperaCon, let’s find a moment to say hello. If you haven’t registered yet, it’s not too late: operaamerica.org/Conference
Let’s talk. Let’s lead. Let’s evolve—together.
