My Story | How a Writer Became an Exec to Become a Bestselling Author
By the time I was 21 years old, I took on graduate school and a job at the local CBS affiliate which would eventually become a FOX affiliate.
I would head west to Fort Worth in the morning to attend classes at TCU and then drive back east to Dallas to write and associate and field produce for the station.
I learned so much while I was there, including that it is ok to step away from something that you aren’t ready for. Training to produce your first show is ill advised while a domestic terrorist attack is underway. 🫠
A ton of history unfolded while I was there.
As quiet as it is kept, I completed my masters thesis during that time—the first book I would write—that was never published broadly.
But it would definitely shape my world view and how I would approach the rest of my career.
Enjoy part two of this series that unravels my entire career story of how I intentionally became an executive to ultimately become a bestselling author. My conversation with @tcuschieffer associate @timdahljr continues…
